Once again a plan called “CIT” (Counselor in Training) for 14 or 15 year olds is offered at our council camps.
The plans are:
a. The applicant will be asked to serve on a non-paying basis for either one or two weeks.
b. He will receive his meals, shower facilities and lodging at no cost to him and no other fee will be required.
c. “CIT” service is for only one week at a time. He will be observed by the section leaders of the areas in which he serves; and at the end of the week, the section leaders will meet with the Camp and Program Directors for evaluation of the “CITS” performance and adaptability. The Camp and Program Directors will then determine if the “CIT” should stay a second week.
d. If the “CIT” satisfactorily completes his training and if he will be 15 years old by the opening of camp next year, he will be qualified to apply for a staff position on a full time basis.
e. The “CIT” will be required to comply with the rules and regulations spelled out In the Middle Tennessee Council Staff manual.
f.The final decision on the “CIT” schedule will be determined by the Camp Director and the “CIT” will be notified prior to camp as to which weeks he will be asked to serve.
