Welcome to the Wa-Hi-Nasa Unit Elections Page!

Unit Elections are how youth members become candidates for the Order of the Arrow, Scouting National Honor Society. It is our goal in the Wa-Hi-Nasa Lodge to provide a unit election to every troop, crew, and ship in the Middle Tennessee Council.

You can request an election in two ways, via the linked form below, or through a link from your email. Either way, we will then work to schedule a unit election with your unit.

Our unit election season runs from January through early May. This allows all of the unit elections to be conducted and the results to be processed by the lodge in time for candidates to register for the June Induction Weekend in early June. Historically, some units have had unit elections done at summer camp. We ask that you consider having your election before May to allow your scouts to choose which Induction Weekend to attend and to come to a Summer Camp Cracker Barrel, if they choose to go through the June Induction Weekend.

Please note that only unit elections conducted by a lodge or chapter delegation and reported to the lodge within two months will be considered valid. To be consistent with the National OA Guide to Unit Elections, any election conducted autonomously by a unit will not be considered valid by the lodge.

If you have any questions, please contact us at unitelections@wa-hi-nasa.org. The official procedures for unit elections and induction into the OA can be found in the Guide to Unit Elections on the national OA website. A selection of those pages was gathered and put together into the Unit Leader’s Guide to Elections, which is an FAQ document that is linked below.

The below video was created in 2020 to assist with virtual elections, but it can give you an idea of how an election is conducted, as well as how the OA benefits the individual and their unit.

If you are looking to submit an adult nomination, please contact us at vcoperations@wa-hi-nasa.org.
